Do you have a suppressed desire for something? Although this
play was written in 1924, I chose this play to show the desire
that our society had and still has to fit the trends of our time and
the desire to find the meaning of life and how to live it. Susan
Glaspell wrote thirteen plays, fourteen novels, fifty short stories, as well as numerous articles and essays. She is also only the second woman to have received the Pulitzer Prize, winning it in 1931 for "Allison's House". Susan Glaspell's heroines are among the most distinguished achievements in character creation in the entire range of human drama. |
