Jeanne Leep, Ph.D. (director) is an associate professor and in her seventh year in the Department of Theatre Arts here at Edgewood College.
She received her Ph.D. in directing from Wayne State University, and her M.A. from the University of Michigan in theatre studies. Leep has also studied the Stanislavski system at the Moscow Art Theatre’s training program.
She is a founding member of River City Improv, a performance improvisational troupe based in Michigan.
Some past directing credits include Dancing at Lughnasa, Marvin’s Room, The Road to Mecca, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Top Girls, The Actor’s Nightmare, God’s Favorite, Harvey, Guys and Dolls, The Importance of Being Earnest, How I Learned to Drive, The Mysteries: Creation, A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, The Glass Menagerie, The Laramie Project, Reckless, Nickel and Dimed, Dead Man Walking and Tartuffe.
She also continues to perform short form improv with River City as her schedule allows.
Her book, Theatrical Improvisation, published by Palgrave Macmillian, came out in 2008.
