English/Communication studies/theatre arts Minor (Requirements)
This minor leads to licensure to teach English language arts in grades 1-9 and is useful for Elementary Education majors. Interdisciplinary in nature, its emphasis is upon the communicative functions of language.
Twenty-four credits in Communication Studies (CS), Theatre Arts (THA) and English
(ENG) as follows:
1. THA 264F3 and 276.
2. One of the following: CS 310, 312 or 314.
3. One of the following: THA 226F2,
326, or 338.
4. ENG 201 or 205F3.
5. ENG 210F1, 234F1, 235F1, or 236F1.
6. ENG 303.
7. One of the following: ENG 242F1, 259F1, 276F1, 327, 367, 368, 442,
or 470.
Transfer students must earn a minimum of nine credits from courses in English at Edgewood, and a minimum of six credits from courses in Communication
Studies and Theatre Arts at Edgewood.
